ADHD
ADHD Services at Terrey Hills Medical Centre
At Terrey Hills Medical Centre, we understand that ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a real and growing condition in Australia, affecting both young people and adults. ADHD can have a significant impact on daily life, including focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and relationships.
We are committed to supporting our patients with ADHD and their families through comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care. Our goal is to make ADHD support more accessible and integrated into your ongoing health care.
GP Involvement in ADHD Care
Recent changes in legislation now allow GPs to play a greater role in ADHD care.
This means your family GP — who knows you best — can be more involved in supporting your ADHD management.
- Improve appointment availability
- Reduce the cost and barriers to accessing care
- Provide continuity with your trusted GP
Our ADHD services -how we work:
Our ADHD Services Include:
- Screening and assessment for ADHD
- Continuing prescribing for ADHD medication (for patients the GP deems suitable)
- Coordination of care with psychiatrists, paediatricians, and psychologists
- Ongoing monitoring and support for ADHD management
Please note:
- Not all patients will be suitable for GP-led ADHD care.
- At present, GPs are not able to initiate ADHD medication — this must be done by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.
- This may change in 2026, allowing GPs to initiate prescribing.
Who We Can See:
We currently offer ADHD appointments for patients aged 12 years and over only.
Appointment Fees:
All ADHD consultations are fully private and charged at $280 per appointment, regardless of age or concession card status.
This fee reflects:
- The complexity of ADHD consultations
- The additional training required for prescribing rights
- The responsibility involved in overseeing ongoing ADHD care
Booking an ADHD Appointment:
If you would like to book an ADHD appointment, please book an ADHD appointment online. Please make sure you select ADHD appointment from the appointment type list.
Dr Rufus Ferrabee, ADHD Lead, says:
“Our goal is to make ADHD care more accessible for our patients and families. By bringing ADHD management into general practice, we can provide consistent, compassionate care close to home.”
